After being closed for about three months, the core safari zones of Ranthambore National Park have reopened from the first week of October 2025. These zones (Zones 1-5) shut down during the monsoon, from July through September. Though core zones were closed, outer safari zones, from 6 to 10, kept operating. This time, October 1 falls on a Wednesday, which is also the weekly closure day for the core zones. So the Zones 1-5 are accessible from Thursday, that is, October 2, 2025.
Hence, Ranthambore online safari booking is now open online for all zones of Ranthambore. The number of vehicles per day will stay the same this season; no increase. This year's monsoon brought heavy rain. Many safari paths were damaged or washed away. Repairs have been done. Forest administration says the safety of visitors is the top priority.
Forest officials hope the tourist season will bring better chances of sightings. Ranthambore has long been famous for its excellent wildlife viewing. During the monsoon, zones 6-10 stayed open. They are considered less rich in animal sightings compared to core zones. But over time, those zones have also reported good wildlife action.
Even in rainy months, animals continue their natural cycles. With core zones closed, there is more peace for them to move, rest, and breed. Some trails get slushy, risky though. But tourists kept coming.
One of the best parts of the commencement of this tourist season is that the connectivity has improved. The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway now lets wildlife lovers reach Ranthambore more quickly - about four hours from many places. Because even during the closure, tourists visited the outer zones, and the monitoring got better. Forest officials used the quieter time to check illegal grazing, forest damage, and other bad activities. Zones being open or monitored help keep the reserve safer. With Ranthambore National Park safari booking available online, visitors now have an easier and faster experience securing their entry passes.

Ranthambore National Park offers both jeep safaris and canter safaris. Jeeps are smaller in size, where only six people can ride at a time. Canters, on the other hand, can accommodate up to 16 people. Depending on the size of your group or your budget range, choose the safari vehicle. Jeeps are costlier than canters
As mentioned earlier, Ranthambore National Park’s safari zones are numbered from 1-10. The core zones (1-5) have recorded higher tiger sightings, while 6–10 are buffer zones. However, tiger sightings in these zones are also fair. You must go for an advanced Ranthambore safari booking if you are looking to explore the core areas of the park.
Both jeep safari Ranthambore and canter safari Ranthambore operate in morning and evening slots. Follow Rules: Listen to your guide and maintain silence during the safari. It not only keeps you safe but also ensures better wildlife sightings.
Be Ready with a Camera: Wildlife can appear suddenly, so keeping your camera ready ensures you don’t miss any exciting moments.
Booking your Ranthambore National Park safari in advance also allows you to combine it with nearby sightseeing. The Ranthambore Fort is one of the main attractions besides the wildlife safaris. Along with the fort, nearby lakes and small villages are worth exploring if you have extra time. Planning early makes it easier to schedule everything perfectly. Lastly, if you are travelling during peak seasons or long weekends, early booking is mandatory. Waiting until the last moment means missing out on the convenient safari slots and ending up paying higher prices.
Book early because demand is high once the core zones reopen.
Core zones 1-5 opened from October 2, 2025, due to seasonal closure. Outer zones from 6-10 remained open throughout the year.
Travel time and route conditions may still be affected by rain. Some roads are repaired, but others might still have patches.
Stay with authorised safari operators and follow safety guidelines.
Carry essential items and extra clothes. Even if core zones reopen, forest interiors can be sloppy, muddy.
